Kol Tribe of Chhattisgarh
The Kol tribe, also known as the Kolar or Kolawar, is believed to be one of the oldest tribal communities in Chhattisgarh. Their origins can be traced back to the ancient Gond kingdom, which once encompassed large parts of central India. Today, they primarily inhabit the regions of Bastar, Surguja, and Jashpur.
The Kol tribe has a close connection with nature and their daily lives revolve around agriculture and forest-based activities.
