The Kol Peoples is an indigenous tribal community in India’s easter part. in Madhya Pradesh. Kol is the third largest tribe of Madhya Pradesh, India. Not only this it is one of the most ancient tribes on the land. They are also mentioned in Rigveda and Purana about Kol tribe. The Kol people belong to the Kolarian family group. People of Kol, Munda, Ho, Santhali, Oraon, etc. tribes come in Kolariyan family group.Â

The people of Kol tribe have their own language, Kol (Munda) language, whose dialect is Mundari and Ho. Today many people of Kol tribe have forgotten the Kol language. The name of the script of Kol language is Warang Chiti which was created by Oth Guru Kol Lako Bodra. Kol tribal people use arrows, spear, sword, spear, ax and mace for hunting. Their administrative system is handled by Gauntia-Deman, Dahait-Deman. The food items of Kol tribe people are Kodo, Kutki, Setua, Lata, Dobhari, Bhurkunda, Jonhari, Bhutta, and Bahuri.
